Needs faster alignment

Great, simple app. Does exactly what it claims, just needs to have more speed for aligning my photos and maybe a bigger window for adding photos

Plesently surprised, especially because of the price.

My title says it all, I have used MANY different HDR programs on my PC, I finally got a Macso I was trying to hunt down a simple program for when I need to use HDR, this app is VERY simple to use, it is very quick to process the image, and UNLIKE many other expensive HDR programs, what you see in the preview is ACTUALLY what you get when the image has been processed. For free, Its second to none. Try it out, since it is free, you have nothing to loose!

Wonderful!

Turns my ugly pics into works of art!!

Happy little app

I found this app to be very interesting and while simple in nature, extraordinary in delivery

Better than most other expensive apps

The only complaint I have with this app is that its not been updated for the retina display, which is kindof a disappointment (kindof cuz most of the apps on the mac store havent and this ones free, so im still happy) I think app developers ought to write the max resolution their apps can work with on the app page. So that people with the retina pros dont have to hunt for a retina compatible app on google.

This is Free??

What a fantastic app! I was terribly frustrated by other HDR offerings in the App store. This just made my night!

Simple.

Simple. Does what its supposed to, very easy to use.

Simple app - great results.

I havent finished exploring this, but the results from my initial tests are far better than much more expensive applications I have tried.

This is a MUST HAVE!

I am a photographer and currently use Photomatix as my HDR program and Photoshop as my primary editing software. I downloaded this HDRtist app just to see what it would do and I am amazed! It downloaded and installed in about a minute and launched perfectly. To create my first HDRtist high dynamic range image, I dropped in a three exposure set of images, (-1EV, even and +1EV), that I have already used in Photomatix and within a few seconds I had an HDR image. The image was definately HDR and VERY sharp! Obviously HDRtist does not have the editing capibilities of an expensive software like Photomatics but HDRtist did allow me to save the image in various formats, (including JPEG), which will let the user edit the image further in any software INCLUDING iphoto for the budding photographers just starting out and learning the photo editing ropes. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND this app! And remember to have FUN!

Pretty good start

Im an amateur photographer and have only just started working with HDR so thought I would try this app out before making a larger purhase. It is super easy to use! I like that the convergence is automatic of my bracketed photos but I wish the image was crisper. I have to set it at the strongest in order to get the crispness and then it just looks fake. Anyway, worth downloading to play with.

Great Free Tool

Does exactly what it says it does. I prefer this over Photoshop, simply because of easy of use. I haven’t compared many, but when I did compare an HDR I made with this software and one I made with Photoshop I preferred the HDRtist version (if not, I liked them the same). Easy to use and minimal problems. One time the software could not merge the three photos. Aligning photos takes a bit of time also, but overall a great product.

Pleasantly Surprised

I have an HDR program but it only works on Microsoft Windows. HDRtist is easier to use, very intuitive and produces excellent results. My first test was with a single photo, how this is accomplished is unknown, but it actually works! Working with a sample of three photos, deliberately taken to test my Windows program, produced as good or better results. These three were taken using a tripod so alignment went quickly. I have yet to try with hand held photos. Overall an amazing app. I am curious what the Pro version could do better.

Doesn’t save to a high res file.

It works pretty good, but if you combine photos that are over 2MB, it saves them in a much smaller file, slightly over 1MB. If you like to print large images, or crop a portion of them to save and print, I wouldn’t recommend it. If you are saving them for Facebook posts, then this program would do just fine.
